Opera on Tap’s mission is to promote opera as a viable, living and progressive art form by taking it out of the concert halls and putting it into venues where people least expect it. We are passionate about breaking down misconceptions, bringing new people to the art form, and giving power to the performers. We are also committed to building community through the introduction of new audiences to a centuries-old art form.

Stellina Opera Night
Sunday Night at the Opera
Opera and Literature
Sunday January 31st at 5:30pm
Opera on Tap returns to Stellina Watertown for another year of opera, song and Italian cuisine beginning this Sunday January 31 at 5:30. This time the theme is Opera and Literature, compositions based on the greatest literary works of all time.
Since the beginning of musical history, classical composers have been attracted to popular literary works as a basis for their compositions. From Aeschylus and Shakespeare to Steinbeck, Hemingway and Fitzgerald, pairing great novels with great music has been the ultimate challenge.
The highlight of the evening will be an appearance by members of MetroWest Opera, presenting a special preview of their upcoming spring performances of Mark Adamo’s opera Little Women, based on Louisa May Alcott’s immortal novel. This is considered by many one of America’s most exciting modern operas.
Seth Grondin, Baritone
Brendon Shapiro, piano
