Keely Borland

Keely Borland, a lyric coloratura soprano from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, began acting and singing musical theater at age six and switched to classical repertoire at age eleven. Keely earned both a B.M. in Vocal Performance and a B.A. in Art History from Lawrence University/Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin. She was the recipient of the Lawrence University/Conservatory Merit Scholarship and placed in the top three singers for five consecutive years in the Wisconsin Chapter of NATS competition. Her opera credits include Princess Laoula (L'étoile), Anne Page, cover (The Merry Wives of Windsor), Suor Genovieffa (Suor Angelica), Bastienne (Bastien & Bastienne), and Second Lady (The Magic Flute) as well as scenes from The Light in the Piazza (Franca), Lakmé (Lakmé), The Cunning Little Vixen (Head Hen), Die Fledermaus (Adele), Don Pasquale (Norina), La fille du regiment (Marie), and Carmen (Frasquita and Mercedes). She is currently a first year masters student in Vocal Arts at the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music, studying with Gary Glaze.
