Ralph Katz

Ralph Katz has been playing clarinet since 1958, and counts Paul Schaller (clarinet), Arnold Jacobs (breathing), and Jane Heirich (Alexander Technique) as his most significant teachers. He received a a degree in Mathematics from University of Michigan in 1972 and never managed to leave the area. Equally at home with classical and ethnic styles, he has played with too many to area groups to list. He is currently performs with Klezmer Fusion Band, Dexter Community Orchestra, Bow Echo, and The Ethnic Connection. His wife Deborah is Band Director at Scarlett Middle School.
