Sara Staples

Mezzo-Soprano Sara Staples, hailed for her “vivacity, charm and consummate acting skills” has performed the leading roles of Nancy in Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring, Hermia in Britten’s A Midsummer Night's Dream and Hora in Cavalli’s Egisto, as well as roles in scenes from the operas L’incoronazione di Poppea, Candide, I Capuletti e i Montecchi, Don Giovanni, La calisto and Così fan tutte. She has recently performed for a live broadcast performance at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and as a soloist with the Horizon Music Group in Los Angeles and the South Dakota Chorale. She has also performed as a soloist at the Boston Early Music Festival, the Taipei International Choral Festival, the Casalmaggiore International Chamber Music Festival held in Casalmaggiore, Italy and the Vancouver Early Music Baroque Vocal program in Vancouver, Canada. This summer, she will perform the role of Foreign Princess in Rusalka with Opera NUOVA. She is pursuing her Masters degree at The University of Southern California in Vocal arts and is thrilled to be a part of Opera on Tap Los Angeles!
