Oct 17, 11:00pm - Oct 18, 12:30am

Opera on Tap Maine is so excited to partner with Sur Lie once again and present to you, Opera Bites, a virtual evening of classical standards from a trio of talented Maine sopranos: roster favorite, Molly Harmon, co-founder and director, Shaunna Lucas, and new addition, Kimberly Ouellette, with Scott Wheatley, piano, paired with tasty “bites” from Sur Lie executive chef, Jef Wright to accompany a set of French art song, a set of Italian arias, and a set of French/Czech arias. Enjoy the many, versatile layers of the soprano repertoire, the premier voices of Maine, and the most flavorful local food, all from the comfort of your own home!

Our sopranos will be joined by special guest, Sur Lie owner and director of opera-tions, Krista Cole, who will provide additional insight into the menu and wine selections, and guidance on how to prepare and serve your meal.

Join us right here on our Facebook page on Thursday, July 30th at 7:00pm EST US!

Opera on Tap Maine and Thomas Memorial Library present “Home Is Where the Heart Is”, featuring our Maine singers who find themselves quarantined in other states, from Connecticut, to Texas, all the way to California. Our fabulous cast have appeared on stages across the country, as young artists with opera companies, behind the microphone at comedy clubs, as members of national touring productions, even in one of the most iconic shows on Broadway! We will gather for an evening of music that runs the gamut from classic opera and art song, beloved Broadway show tunes, jazz standards, even a little Disney. Sometimes the worlds of opera and musical theater can be divided, but here at Opera on Tap Maine, we celebrate our differences, and know we are better together, even if we might be apart. Look out for our artist spotlights throughout the next few weeks, and join us Thursday, July 30th at 7:00pm here on the Thomas Memorial Library Facebook page for a livestream concert you won’t want to miss!

Opera on Tap: Mainely Mozart

Opera on Tap: Mainely Mozart

Jun 26, 11:30pm - Jun 27, 1:00am

Cadenza5 Depot StreetFreeport, ME04032 Map

Opera on Tap Maine presents Mainely Mozart, an evening of, mainly, selections from our favorite classical composer, with a side of tipsy opera history, as we describe the real synopsis of standards like Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Die Zauberflöte. Opera can have a reputation for being uptight, stuffy, boring… if you only knew what we were singing about.

This event will be live streamed on the Cadenza Facebook page, so grab a drink, sit back on your couch, and enjoy from your own home!

“Opera on Tap is the largest network of performing artists in the country. We take a local, grassroots, and VERY fun approach to community outreach in the name of our art form. We sing anywhere people will let us, but not really so much in concert halls and opera houses.”

Featuring:

Shaunna Lucas, soprano
Lauren Yokabaskas, soprano
Sable Strout, mezzo-soprano
Aaren Rivard, tenor
Scott Wheatley, piano
